Qualifications for taxi drivers have been widely used in England and Wales for a number of years.</em></p> <p><em>The City of Edinburgh Council is currently undertaking a consultation on the proposed changes and are now inviting views on training and training content. Should you wish to comment please visit:<br /> <a href="https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/taxi-and-phc-driver-qualification" rel="nofollow">https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/taxi-and-phc-driver-qualification</a> and complete our online survey before 13 December 2015.</em></p> <p>No mention in the City &amp; Guilds content regarding vulnerable road users, however there is a section on "Road safety when driving passengers in a taxi or private hire vehicle".</p> <p>Can only be a good thing, I suppose. Of course, I had assumed a fair bit of this was covered in obtaining an appropriate license, however that assumption appears to have been incorrect!</p> <p>Robert </p>
