<p>Saw that earlier as well. Was trying to decide how I'd split it up if I were to do it.</p>
<p>The ~100 mile route along the Tweed looks like a good one as well.

<p>As SimonS says, that Audax route and others which start from Galashiels might give you some ideas. You could adapt the Etal U Can which goes from Gala out to Grantshouse on the coast then south to Wooler and west through Kirk Yetholm to Selkirk. Miss out the eastern bit by cutting across via Kelso or Coldstream on back roads. Or there's <a href="https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/55.941623,-3.0607098/55.9418731,-3.0600043/Denholm,+Scottish+Borders/Chain+Bridge+Honey+Farm,+Horncliffe/East+Linton,+East+Lothian,+UK/Musselburgh,+East+Lothian,+UK/@55.6980033,-2.8423838,10z/data=!4m73!4m72!1m0!1m15!3m4!1m2!1d-2.9688819!2d55.8223743!3s0x4887bd6f63e2108f:0xf2e1491650c26bed!3m4!1m2!1d-2.9158516!2d55.7382018!3s0x488799e37f1e8dfb:0x44cf05c65f202fab!3m4!1m2!1d-2.9016269!2d55.6432931!3s0x48879aaf1bfb3543:0x7dc83edc2d85efb5!1m25!1m1!1s0x4887807c7cf22203:0x85e17f03b54a008b!2m2!1d-2.682608!2d55.458606!3m4!1m2!1d-2.5807477!2d55.5138652!3s0x48877e8b64988b2d:0x9519cd8932867!3m4!1m2!1d-2.4815449!2d55.568197!3s0x48877b68ce0f0dfb:0x2d62c85635c17656!3m4!1m2!1d-2.3570897!2d55.6794543!3s0x48876f300022aa61:0x7a76676c544596a5!3m4!1m2!1d-2.1575149!2d55.7196742!3s0x488743c65511acbd:0xa79d2f6b0596b111!1m10!1m1!1s0x488746a5b8f5d56b:0x1877ecd144126e0a!2m2!1d-2.104267!2d55.750158!3m4!1m2!1d-2.4951283!2d55.8493637!3s0x48870d6bf12c6e1b:0x1106c9001b52b907!1m10!1m1!1s0x4887062962816fd9:0x90c56e06fd579ef5!2m2!1d-2.6592539!2d55.988747!3m4!1m2!1d-2.683438!2d55.972483!3s0x488708403c20a853:0x2f716a0565e64df9!1m5!1m1!1s0x4887b90c19e93b8d:0x67547fcfb63c5f67!2m2!1d-3.053918!2d55.941941!3e2?hl=en">this route</a> which I really liked when I rode it. Just do the bit from near Gala to Norham and return by some other combination of back roads, perhaps via Kirk Yetholm. I really like the back road through Kirk Yetholm and Morebattle - it would be the bit I would aim for if I had the chance to go riding down there.

<p>If you mean a return route them I'd recommend the old coach road. But don't reach it via the A7, instead take the back road from Gala to the Rink and from there to Clovenfords and then the OCR. At Heriot you can take to the A7 to reach the Tynehead turn off after a couple of miles. Café in Stow.<br />
Otherwise up to Denholm and then to Kelso etc. Or out to Bonchester and Newcastleton. Or up the Yarrow valley and over to Innerleithen.

<p>Any one got any good routes from from the "other" end of the borders railway? I need to do some <strike>training</strike> prep for a ride in May and I though it might be a nice treat to do ride that doesn't involve the lang whang which tends to dominate my out of town routes.
