<description>&#60;p&#62;Pity the data doesn't go back further than the late 1990s (the era of &#34;peak car&#34; allegedly, except for viewers in Scotland). Imagine if it went back to WW2, then I imagine we'd see a picture of staggering decline, with a recovery over the past 20 years but along specific routes.
