I didn't fancy a long undertake so diverted to the canal.</p> <p>Got a taxi at lunchtime (bad choice) &amp; driver said that the diversion is badly signposted so drivers constantly go down Semple Street and realise too late that they can't turn right. Some using Loudons to Semple St cut-through. At least the south footway is quite generous outside Widows.<br /> If you emerge from the path between SWIP and the robot car park it's best to cross the road and use the wider Widows-side path than the narrow bit in front of Atria/Co-op; there are plastic barriers between along the middle of the road.
