I wonder if ANPR enforcement would be viable in these newly created safe zones.

Every commercial car park seems to have jumped on the bandwagon.

The primary school over the road had a parking attendant sitting by the bins/turning point at the start of term which had a very positive effect on the parking situation for the week or two he was there. Back to usual since, mind.

This is indeed excellent; except that it's seen as a final and exceptional straw to actually enforce such things!

People need to get up early enough to walk? But snowy that one sounds bad. You could ring her doorbell on way past and offer to take the wee one, but that might be freaky?

Good.
We are lucky enough to live about a 4 minute walk from our school gates.
One of our neighbours, who lives about a minute closer, actually drives her child to school, and then returns to park the car at home.
She's normally still fighting for a parking space for the drop-off when I'm leaving the school.
No mobility issues. And she cycles a fair bit at other times.
Cognitive dissonance. What is it about the school run?

Just received a letter from my daughter's school, saying essentially that they are fed up with parents flouting the parking guidelines and have agreed with local Police that those who flout them will be given FPNs.

The tone of the letter was basically- "you are selfish £$^%&S, it is only a matter of time before one of you causes an accident, we have asked you nicely, but now we are sick of you and we are going to get the law to help."

I look forward to the first FPNs being applied and the accompanying howls of outrage.
