I tried this with the current version of Excel for Mac. It asked to use an online service and converted the ODS file automatically.

Excel online did it too.

Numbers wouldn't do it.

I read on an Apple help forum that you need the Open Office program to open an open document source (ods) spreadsheet on a Mac. Hope that helps.

Maybe Office for Mac doesn't support Open Document. Can you get onto google Docs? I'd bet that would have not trouble with it.

edit: bah ninja'd :)

Can you maybe open it using Google sheets? I am pretty sure it can read open document file types.

doesn't seem to work. seems to be issue with mac.

just had IT guy in the office who's as baffled as I am. MAC just keeps saying that it's not a valid file format.

he's going to go ask our resident mac expert.

Its an OpenDocument format, Excel should be able to read the files. Try going through the "Open" function and selecting the all files option and accessing the files from there.

Can anyone tell me how to open the files that download when you click on the 'tables' in this?

they come up as zipped .ods files, but I can't actually see inside them once they're downloaded.

have asked my work IT but hoping you lot might be faster. journo wants some analysis before I leave to collect my kids...
