I charge £400 for a double room and that includes all bills. That's the cheaper end of the market. The average seems to be about £430 plus council tax and bills. </p> <p>Spareroom.co.uk is pretty good. I've found flatmates there.</p> <p>I found people looked for my room and I looked for them, so it is worthwhile creating your own profile. Would I be right in saying that the average rent would be between £400 - £500 a month? I have been looking at Spareroom.com, but does anyone think Gumtree (or any other sites) are better? Is it worth creating your own profile and let landlords come to you rather than you go to them?<br /> I have heard how competitive it is to find a flat here and I am a bit worried about it to be honest.
