It were awful and I were that traumatised I still remember it like it were yesterday. It were dark int mornings and dark int evenings comin'home. At least he went round the one-way system in the right direction.</p> <p>Came within inches of mowing down a rather substantial lady (I probably would have come off worst if there had been a prang) who stepped right out of Somerfield at West Maitland Street onto the road and directly into my path without looking. I swerved around as I yelled a warning. We have seasons and equinoxes and longest days and shortest days. It is quite pointless, apart from the poor people up north who see no daylight in the winter. I think I might have mentioned before that the legendary Ayr Pavilion put the clocks forward one spring and flung everyone out of the Powerhouse Disco an hour early. When we complained theytold us to come back in six months when we could have an extra hours drinking.</p> <p>THere has been research that shows more accidents happen at night is that right? But if the clocks didn't go back it would be darker in the mornings so maybe there'd be more accidents then?</p> <p>I don't like it when it gets dark at 3.30 but after 21.12. things start to get better (well not last winter). So far I have only had windy but dry and wet but mild when adding in the darkness factor.
