I think I've posted a map before but Edinburgh has a reducing number of east west routes. In the city centre there's only 3 long east / west routes - Queen Street, Cowgate, Meadows / Hope Park Terrace / Bernard Street.</p> <p>Routes that have been closed / restricted :- </p> <p>Johnston Terrace / Royal Mile<br /> Lauriston Place / Chambers street / Royal Mile (banned turn)<br /> Princes Street<br /> George Street (banned turns)<br /> Raeburn Place / Glenogle Road</p> <p>(Yes I know I'm clutching at straws)</p> <p>At some point soon something has to be done on Lower Granton road. The road just isn't wide enough for 2 lanes of traffic + residents car parking + pavements + SAAB garage pavement parking. </p> <p>Plenty of off road space for shared use path from Granton Square using space allocated to the tram.
