There is a great triptych painting of the pub in the canteen at Waverley court with the barman in maroon nylon coats. I admire it often.</p> <p>Holyrood 9a does an excellent range of beers and burgers, I had falafel burger and a pint of jarl only last night.</p> <p>Gravediggers next to glasnevin cemetery in Dublin is the best pub in the world. The gravediggers used to put their spade in through a hatch and get a pint of Guinness placed on it. Certainly in the winter by the fire in the wee snug chair thing. I could have stayed there for ever one night in 1984. Again on a summer Sunday afternoon with all the doors open in maybe 1994 with my better half.</p> <p>Maybe the jolly botanist is the best gin bar in Edinburgh</p> <p>Is there not a bar in Palma that has its own tree and opens about midnight.
