Nursery will be on right hand side of the stand with the grass bit in front.

This article shows a much larger green area for the nursery.

I'm also trying to work out what happens to Tynecastle Nursery, under the Hearts plans. It looks like they will be tucked under the stadium. But it's hard to tell if they will loose out on outdoor space/Veranda which is really excellent and relatively large at the moment.

Also related, a very large skip lorry tried to turn into McLeod Street yesterday as I was getting to the junction. I had enough room to move over to the side so I didn't get hit. But other truck came up behind me which meant the skip lorry couldn't complete his turn. At this point I couldn't make my right turn as the entire view of the road was completely blocked.

Once we had figured out that no one could move, I was forced to dismount, as my rear passenger makes the bike significantly less maneuverable, to get things going.

These are the low bridges that prevent access to the industrial units on Russel Road - only access is via McLeod Street.

Hearts came along to the last MCC and gave a very interesting presentation on their plans. I think we were the first presentation they did. You really should come along sometime...

The plan is to rebuild their East stand nearest Mcleod St, without significantly increasing it's footprint. They would then look to open up their frontage to Mcleod St and create an open space leading into the club.

They made the suggestion, that it would be nice if the council closed Mcleod St so that it became a useable space for them and the High School rather than this bigger space being intersected by the road.

They made it clear that it's definitely the council's decision, but they were just showing what it could become..

Why would people think they would close McLeod Street?

I would have thought they need it open to retain site access.

Or am I missing the point?

Macleod Street is the only route for high sided vehicles in to the Russell Road industrial estate. There's a low bridge on Murieston Cresc and another on Russell Road next to the tram bridge.

Normally a development like this would take at least a year to go through. Some interesting comments on the EEN saying Hearts have friends in the right places to ensure this goes through.

Do they have the power to resurface McLeod Street? That would be a Good Thing - it has one of those nasty rough surfaces that is probably fine in a car but is deeply unpleasant on a bike...

However, she assured any concerned businesses or residents that the club “don’t have the power to close McLeod Street. Anyone worried about that, really shouldn’t be.”
