It's a scenic tour, not an arterial route.

Enjoy the scenery, and the flowery corridor round Broxburn.

If we continue with winds from the East, I'll probably do a test run to Linlithgow next week.

If you think of it as part of the National Cycle Network you can never be disappointed.

If you think of it as a trail rather than a path then there are no 'bad bits'. State of mind, innit?

The good bits are just frequent enough to make it worth sticking through the bad bits.

took my hybrid all the way to linlithgow and managed fine usually around the 15mph rate with 20 on the good open dry bits

@gibbo

There are a few stretches of plowter where the canal is cut into steep, tree-lined gorges and the Falkirk Tunnel is a bit sketchy (sunglasses off next time...) but otherwise it's fine. Wouldn't take a fancy road bike but anything else will manage fine. Don't expect to go too fast, but no need for bubblewrap or ointment.

Hey, guys!

How good is the canal path from Winchburgh to Falkirk Wheel?

Any dodgy bits that are either inches wide, or turn to mush whenever there's rain?
