<p>Glasgow's Crossrail would be one huge step in improving rail travel in Scotland. Bizarely the current Queen St closure has improved some journeys by making Aberdeen and Inverness trains use Central. This saves a walk or slow bus across city to change trains. (Haymarket or Waverley are alternative north / south interchanges but more choice should be there to cope with growing demand).
