Sorry

Not endorsing any threats or criminal activity.

Was reminded of this -

"
Now, a very great man once said
That some people rob you with a fountain pen

If a junior shellsuit approaches as you lock your steed up and says "watch yer bike furra fiver mister?" either give him the fiver or ride on if you want to see your bike again

[Off topic] [Rant Starts]

Ugh, I hate these people. I once had a delightful young thing suggest to me that he might 'chib' me for the sake of 20 pence. Now you say the protection money is £5 for a bicycle.

Two points:
1) My bicycle is worth 250 times more than my life?
2) Seriously 20 pence? You'll need to make a lot of threats to make a good living. And sadly this business model will not scale well. Likewise for the £5/per bicycle. Have these people no drive, no vision?!

I dare them to do better.

NB: Chib means "to stab" - I had to look this up at home after the event. If I don't understand your threat, how could I possibly understand it well enough to decide if I wanted to give you my custom? Don't use jargon, tailor your language to your customer.

[Rant Ends]

Central Station has two level racks beside a security camera. I'm not sure if like them because you have to lock onto a loop beside the left chainstay which leaves a lot of room for a car jack. I might use it next month when I have to spend a day at the SQA but I haven't decided.

Cambridge St and Buchanan Galleries car parks have bike racks indoors and within view of the office. Cambridge St is 24 hr.

Buchanan Bus Station has racks under cover and right outside the inspector's office.

The car park beside Charing Cross station has very odd things to lock bikes to and they have never been used as far as anyone knows.

West end has racks round Byre's Rd/University obviously.

Heading to Glasgow today - where's best to leave the bike? I'll be in the west end for a little bit and then in the City Centre well into the evening. Is there anywhere good or areas I should avoid?
