Good tyres though if you can get them. </p> <p>I have some Conti Twisters in the shed, which are great for offroad but draaaaaag on tarmac. I had Maxxis Raze (aka CST Cultivator) tyres and they were pretty good too, but on-road use killed the tread quickly.</p> <p>Currently running a pair of 35mm Nokian Rollspeeds, bought via Gumtree. Modestly treaded clinchers, as I found today, really don't like deep mud or deepish gravel. </p> <p>I did read a good blog by a guy who tried Schwalbe CX Comps as his commuting tyres during winter a few years ago.
