Is the Union Bridge where the Honey Farm is with the double decker bus cafe? Nice spot.

Aye, although I didn't notice the bus.

Thanks! I went today, going through Dalkeith, Pathhead, Whiteadder, Preston, Union Bridge, Berwick. Lovely route, lots of fun after getting over the hills. Had to wait for a later train in Berwick as all three (!) bike spots were reserved on the one I'd aimed for, but oh well.

The A6105 is fine at the weekends. Probably busier during the week. You can avoid it by going from Chirnside to the Union Bridge and then on to Berwick.

I've done the 76 route & thought it was really pretty. Through red sandstone country, & not overly hilly. It will look fabulous at this time of year.

Cheers. How busy is the A6105 into Berwick?

I would either go Haddington, Garvald, Whitadder reservoir, Preston village, Berwick or Haddington, Biel, Stenton, Pitcox, Spott, Innerwick, Oldhamstocks, Ecklaw, Preston village, Berwick.

The latter is harder but more scenic. The mad way would be via Bransley Hill/Crystal Rigg which is very steep on either side.

The other way I can think of is over Redstone Rigg and round by Longformacus but I think that's a bit dull.

Considering cycling to Berwick sometime, but not too sure of which route to take. NCN1 is a bit far for me at the moment, so I'm inclined to take NCN76, but also wondering about taking a more direct (but hillier) route. Does anyone have any suggestions for the latter sort of route?
