If it's frosty it's slow to melt if at all. Canal path has led studs marking the edge on both sides but if there's snow they don't really show through.</p> <p>Watch out for pedestrians though walking in the pitch black with no lights (ie ME)</p> <p>Co-worker used to cycle in every day along the canal from Broxburn. They cycle from the Meadows to Heriot Watt along the canal and wonder what that is going to be like in winter.</p> <p>For myself I dodge the canal because it's so narrow &amp; I'd take the Balgreen route to Edinburgh Park &amp; then the fragmented way to Heriot Watt. But on checking the Spokes map it's a hard one to follow after Edinburgh Park. Any other ideas. </p>
