I can remember a time when the car was not god, and roads were much safer. Perhaps in my twilight years, if I last 'til 2040 and I have not died of some sort of pollution related disease, and can still get on a bike, I too will be pedalling along. The pollution really is appalling, whether it be noise, light or combustion engine generated and I would have thought a contributory factor to a great many deaths, let alone actually being run over!!
