PM me please?</p> <p>One thing I would recommend for rear mounted carriers is make sure they do not block the lights and licence plate as you will need to get a trailer bar with extra lights and electrics wired up or you are breaking the law. Pricey, but so solid and fail-safe. If the folding step thing works - great option.</p> <p>Only thing went wrong so far was the decapitation of a greater spotted woodpecker which flew into it at Birnam. Easy to fit and very sturdy. Really impressed with the design and build quality.</p> <p>Downsides - the buckles that hold the bikes are a bit fiddly to use, it struggles a bit with small or unusual shaped bikes (though I have had the kids bikes on there) and it's expensive.</p> <p>I'm in Porty/Duddingston if you want to take a look at it sometime, or borrow for a try out.</p> <p>I use roof mounted carriers as well, and often a roofbox. As its a company car, only dealer fitted accessories are allowed and the dealer wants nearly a grand to fit a towball and electrics!</p> <p>So, the rear mounted thing looks like my only option. Any advice/recommendations? </p>
