Arrived this morning to find that all the racks have now gone from here, meaning that the only racks available are right at the back of the station for anyone coming in from Waverley Bridge (I think!)

Pretty frustrating this morning and I got shouted at for scooting along the large flat empty tarmac bit heading towards the racks (think they have a farmers market there...) at 6:55 in the morning. I ignored said shout because I was being petulant.

I use those racks when heading to Newcastle.

It really wasn't clear whether it's just the two level racks or all the racks that are being moved. Having to drop my bike right at the back of the station adds a good 6-8 minutes of inconvenience if you're leaving from platforms with southbound trains. Hope that they don't take them all away!

The bike racks near Platform 19 - ie the hard-negotiated ones near the north ramp - have signs up saying they're closed and being moved to near Platform 3 on Saturday. So, beware if you usually drop a bike there and hop on a south bound train.
