I live in Duddingston and I'd be quite happy to see the park closed off! </em></p> <p>We know... but you're an evolved Duddingstonian. </p> <p>Personal interest and traffic alterations always have pros and cons.</p> <p>For example when Princes Street closed we had a regular bus service at the foot of our close <em>- so the tram works for us were good ;-)</em></p> <p>For many years I've thought that our street should be pedestrianised but then it may become noisier. Due to parked cars there is only room for one lane of traffic for much of the time.</p> <p>Time and time again drivers would follow traffic into a narrow section of road without waiting to see if there was space for them at the other end of the restriction. The usual blinkered, think-only-of-myself attitude that some many drivers have.</p> <p>It quickly became grid locked. When you live in Duddingston the park is your own private expressway to the city. </p> <p>All covered last year in the (soon to be revived?) City Cycling archive.
