THey consulted over a long period.</p> <p>No other uses for the wasteland were ever proposed in the extended period between the idea being proposed and then realised.</p> <p>As Mark Steel noted on his recent trip to Barnard Castle in Co. Durham THe trouble with tourist attractions is they attract tourists.</p> <p>So the bike park is being well used. Shame if you don;t like that sort of thing?
