A second or two later, a Deliveroo rider also pulled into the box. A young lad, much more confident-looking.</p> <p>When the lights changed, he was off like a rocket, whereas she wobbled off and somehow managed to ride downhill at a rate just above casual walking speed. The bus crept along behind her as she (sensibly)stuck to the bus lane away from the slightly faster traffic.</p> <p>I got the feeling she hadn't been on a bike for many a year until yesterday. Not sure what qualifications you need to be an Uber rider, but being a confident bike rider in traffic obviously isn't one they check for.</p> <p>Hopefully she isn't put off &amp; grows in confidence over the weeks / months.
