They see cycling as a transport activity so no need for go faster stripes etc! Think this applies to most on here although the Strava tendency is always lurking!</p> <p>John Lauder was more cycling attired but with red waterproof. Tourquoise / blue Brompton (the bike of choice for Sustranites it seems).</p> <p>Hannah and her twins were in a category of her own as cargo bikes are still quite rare in Edinburgh. As a returnee she did very well as was quite a long and busy (in places) route. She wore brighter clothing and this was her choice of course. </p> <p>Straiton leg had most Sportive type action with Sportive style bikes trying to take Strava sections. This is much more like running to work and appeals to some but should not be the only way to use a bike. </p> <p>We had a 'No show' on three bikes from Ocean Terminal. (Thanks to people for contacting me though as when a bike doesn't turn up we can get worried.) The only cyclist on that leg was hi-speed Neill Hope on his EB. He used less energy than walking from a parked car I reckon. While we all like 'pure' cycling we can't un-invent electric assist. Let's see if it grows cycling by taking some people out of cars. </p> <p>Electron Wheels also had a good ride in civilian clothing on his AtoB EB. He was only 'beaten' by 3 mins. Mainly due to the circuitous nature of the bike path out of Ingliston. By the time he had got to the A8 bike path the car was already at RBS.</p> <p>Very grateful to everyone of course. Everyone contributes something on this. Appreciate we did have a couple of call offs but it all came right in the end. Mrs LB had slowest journey in thanks to a 20 min wait for the tram at Edinburgh Park interchange.<br /> Neill Hope from Electric Bike Co had fastest journey in on his Borse(?) mid-drive Giant E-bike. A mere 12 mins from Ocean Terminal.<br /> Fast 20 min race bike times in from Straiton.<br /> Klaxon though outstyled many on his black &amp; orange Paper Bike. Arriving with i-pod and normal clothes and looking ready for work.<br /> Youngest riders were Hannah and her twins on the rented Urban Arrow. Our only female cycle user and our only multiple occupancy vehicle.<br /> Julia did outrun the bus from Straiton. Loads of other interesting comparisons in this snapshot of the time taken to do routes in the city. As usual transit times were helped by being pre-rush hour... not that it matters much on a bike.</p> <p>Big thanks also to @chdot for providing the 8Freight to help move our aluminium and correx stands.
