This was only discovered after I lodged a formal complaint.</p> <p>The main reason for posting however is that the Officer who eventually handled my case was convinced charges would have progressed (irrespective of my views) had CCTV evidence been available. It was city centre and should have been - BUT - I was informed CEC only keep video footage for 2 weeks. By the time the officer got my case, any evidence was already destroyed.</p> <p>If you ever have an incident you are minded to report, its worth bearing in mind that maybe requesting CCTV footage from CEC early, might help you or the police later. </p>
