NCN Route 75. Usual funny mixture of road surfaces. Can be done on a tourer. Takes a while.</p> <p>The canal towpath goes all the way quite flat. Feels like a slog. Again touring bike rather than racer. Often wet.</p> <p>Routes from north Edinburgh been discussed here when Hankchief led a group through to PoP.</p> <p>Longer south routes via Lanark out the A70 to Carnwath then turn north west. Via Carluke etc.</p> <p>If you are looking to go to Harthill then you can go via fauldhouse which we often do from here in Balerno.
