Imposing LEZ should be a doddle then. :D

If drivers want fewer tailbacks, they should petition for the introduction of congestion charges

At the public meeting on transport issues organised by Corstorphine Community Council someone stood up and said that they had voted against the congestion charge but were now completely in favour of it.

@gibbo, good one. I can almost hear the frothing at the mouth, the wailing and gnashing of teeth at the merest suggestion.

I cycled west along Queensferry St/Dean Bridge yesterday (late morning).

I thought the temporary traffic lights poorly configured. There were times when traffic could have been going in both directions (east and west), but only one direction was allowed to go.

But, hey, another example of why cycling is superior to driving.

(If drivers want fewer tailbacks, they should petition for the introduction of congestion charges.)

Shock horror: emergency roadworks cause major traffic disruption scandal probe fury*

* Someone, somewhere always seems to be furious about something, especially in rags like the EEN.

this country is full of mororns...

In an unrelated note tempted to point out to this chap that the trams run from their own overhead high voltage line and that 240v ring main would be under very heavy demand if the tram tried to run on it. But icba with facebook argument with an a tram fixated een commentator.

I sincerely hope that this is nothing to do with the extra demand placed on our power infrastructure by the toy tram set running through the West end.

As a general reminder, don't read the comments.

Vehicles were backed up to at least the Holiday Inn at Craigleith when we passed at 08:45 this morning. Similar traffic down Craigleith Road. We went through the back streets to the WGH area and it was clear from there.
