This is my closest slight hill climb and always feel uneasy when cars are behind me. Some cars past cyclists OK but some are not sure and wait. I may give it a go.

It's been over a year since I've found the gates for the top road shut in the evening. It happens sometimes as I sometimes see them being opened in the morning, but not consistently at 19:00.
Philips Saferide or B&M Lumotec+ are sufficient to light the way in the absence of a fully-inflated moon.

Does any body take advantage of the fact that the top road of the seat is closed at 7 pm Oct-March - apart from blue lights and the rangers etc, for some round the seat cycling? I have a road and mtb and was thinking with my lights it would be OK. I did it 12 years ago and comming down Queens drive even with basic lights it was not funny. Lights have improved though.
