Who knows what had happened...</p> <p>Coach parked in the cycle lane/double yellows on Hope Park Crescent. </p> <p>George IV Bridge wholly blocked by HGVs. </p> <p>Nervous lady cyclist trapped in the stupid red stripe lane crossing Princes Street. Left Evens at 12:05, and still had to find wife and son, who I had assumed would have know how to get to the Meadows from Buccleuch Place. She’s definitely a driver and followed the road she had driven in on, rather than walking the 100 or so meters, sigh.</p> <p>Anyway, we eventually joined on the very back of the ride,and made our way down a little detached from the rest. Managed to buy another, and Dr Bike fitted it for me on the meadows in plenty of time for the start. </p> <p>2) Standing in the rain on the meadows with Sally, IWRATS and Gruffalo, with almost no cyclists in sight, having a conversation with the council man that we would still expect most people to turn up, he was quite excited about being able to open the roads early! </p> <p>3) Riding down to parliament with the group - not done that since year 1! </p> <p>4) Being tracked down by the police at the end to ask if it was ok if they re-opened Horse Wynd - very nice of them to ask but they didn't really need to...! </p> <p>5) Wife and baby attended in Trailer (thanks Algo!) and that made me very happy. Although she's looking down, or behind me in most photos - whoops.
