It's like a bike-sharing station, but with what appear to be AR-15 rifles.

No, the "gun-sharing station" in Daley Plaza is not actually real, it's more a symbolic piece of public art.

I wrote to Mountain Equipment Coop Canada, which I'm a member of, and asked them to stop selling these products. I got a decent reply back. Not entirely a form letter.

MEC and REI are being targeted because they are co-ops/member owned.

Worth trying similar here?

Previously -

“

The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited (BSA) was a major British industrial combine, a group of businesses manufacturing military and sporting firearms; bicycles; motorcycles; cars; buses and bodies; steel; iron castings; hand, power, and machine tools; coal cleaning and handling plants; sintered metals; and hard chrome process.

“

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_Small_Arms_Company

Trying to avoid ‘unethical’ things is good (and hard). Getting companies to stop funding the NRA (and offering discounts to members) might be easier (and good for many in the US).

AFAIU Vista Outdoor are not just an NRA supporter but an arms manufacturer, which they're unlikely to stop doing no matter how many cycling shoes I buy from their competitors.

Hmmm. Fortunately, my CoPilots were both secondhand, all but one of my Blackburn racks were secondhand and the new one was bought four years ago and all the Giro and Bell helmets in the house pre-date the 2016 takeover. I hopefully won't need any more Blackburn racks as the children should have grown out of the CoPilots by the time the racks next require replacement.

Will be interesting to see which companies abandon the NRA.

I'd be keen to hear recommendations for alternatives. My Giro Rumbles are really nice but they will eventually wear out and if I can get a nice casual SPD shoe without the ethical problems that would be excellent.

Giro, Bell, Camelbak, Copilot and more are facing a consumer boycott because they are owned by Vista Outdoor, a supporter of the National Rifle Association.
