&#60;p&#62;Turns train journeys from 3 hours of &#34;get s*** done time&#34; to three hours of reading a book which while not terrible means I still have 3 hours of s*** to get done when I get off the train...

If you have a smartphone, then there are apps available that will let you log a track and then export it in a GPX format, there are a wide range of options on each app store.
