@unhurt

I would also bet that. My points were;

1) CCE turns you into a campaigner regardless of your profession, and
2) CCE is a genteel and special place

@Iwrats - I'd be pretty happy to bet there are indeed sex workers who also cycle and care about decent cycling provision.

(I'm not sure that the Strava thing and other spam of that sort is necessarily sent by real life sex workers - more likely someone with loads of similar "sexy" profiles seeking to harvest money from the easily duped internet user? Could be any gender, ay age and from almost anywhere on earth, I assume.)

I would love it if sex workers tried to infiltrate CCE and wound up campaigning for dropped kerbs in tinfoil socks.

Yeah I had that yesterday too.

I've also had a similar thing on Flickr where a "photographer" favs a picture and her style tends to be more ... ahem.... fruity than mine.

I used to regularly get kudos from an athlete based in Russia who had a profile picture of man who's face was covered by a balaclava.

I figured they couldn't do much so I didn't worry about it.

Maybe I should have looked on Google first:
https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000108390-Kudos-follow-requests-and-requests-to-join-a-club-from-spam-profiles

Seems like there's been a spam attack today.

Also, in case you're wondering, here's how to block someone you don't even know:

I noticed in my Strava notifications today that two people had given me kudos for my morning school run on the bike (1.09 miles, if it's not on Strava it doesn't count). One was @paddyirish, who encourages even my most feeble efforts and the other was a young lady apparently called Gabrielle McCall.

Intrigued why someone I've never met and don't recall encountering would be giving me kudos, I looked up her profile to find that she's done precisely one run in her career, and that the athletics she seemed most keen on getting involved in were of the, ahem, bedroom variety.

Is this a new thing that I've not noticed? Presumably if 'she' tries to follow me I can block her, but how does one avoid attracting the attention of 'athletes' like her?
