Not closed as such, just an actual river tonight. Very wet. Except the kilometre of ultitrec which runs between currie and balerno and had some good drains dug when it was laid.

Not a closure as such but between Balerno and Currie there is a tree down over the path. Dismount and carry through possible. THen just after the Ultitrec rubber stretch ( a bit softer than the dry gravel) a very large boulder of Horse manure. A small island no less

On the figures, they've quoted the actual number of responses, then expressed that as a percentage.

So, in Q2 "48 61%" means that 48 out of 79 (61%) people use the path less than once a week.

The percentages I checked all added to 100 or 101% (which will be caused by rounding, as jonty says), except where people would have been able to pick more than one option.

By how much? Percentages in charts rarely add to exactly 100 thanks to rounding errors.

Mention of sharing makes me want to mention yesterday's three dog walker in Colinton Dell, she being firmly of the opinion that cyclists should confine their activities to the west side of the river and not use the side on which she walks her dogs. "There's steps along there you know". "We know".

There will be a mirror survey for pedestrians to complain about cyclists should they feel like it.

I said as it as a shared path cyclists should cycle with care and dog walkers and other peds should also conduct themselves responsibly.

Survey link - didn't include anything about the detour/blocked paths so mentioned those in the comments.

Dean Valley Regeneration Ltd is a local charity to Edinburgh lobbying for the renovation of the council owned land within the Dean Valley and its popular shared walkway along the Water of Leith from Stockbridge to Dean Village. It also includes renovation of those pieces of abandoned land next to Stockbridge and along the river side.

We are conducting a survey of cyclists who use the walkway over the next couple of months. Please would you promote this amongst your friends through Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets.

The path through the Dean Valley forms part of the Council’s planned ‘QuietRoutes’ network of cycle routes across the city. This aims to provide a network of routes that are suitable for less-confident / less-experienced cyclists and is a key part of the Council’s ‘Active Travel Action Plan 2010-2020’ (originally referred to as the ‘Family Network’). In addition, the path is also an important part of the city’s Core Paths network.

I was prepared for the dean village detour but after the Hilton Hotel, the footbridge is closed due to further landslides.

Had to go back up and through the donaldsons roadworks. After that it was plain sailing round Murrayfield then along stenhouse up to canal through heriot watt and along long dalmahoy to ravelrig hill. Good easterly helped.
