@toomanybikes - indeed, but I've had my only ever KOMs when using Strava on the phone (when my Garmin died), so every cloud etc ...

Strava isn't stable on my phone so get this sort of thing all the time. I now track on Runkeeper and upload the gpx file to Strava later on.

Yes, as said by Iain, if you cycle to station, pause gps then resume at the other end you get these artefacts, arrow straight lines going over water, through mountains buildings etc.
If only we could. :-)

I presume that depends on the GPS device.

My phone loses signal every now and again, but I don't think it's ever done it for that long. Switching it off and forgetting to switch it on again, on the other hand, I manage far more frequently.

I've had similar unfeasibly straight lines when i stop Strava then restart the same session in a different place ie cycle to the station, get train then re-commence.

Ha ha @Frenchy - a scenic diversion then.

This was my first use of Strava in a long time and I was just curious as to how in/frequent this kind of thing is.

I'm not sure that going through East Linton on the way from Porty to Trinity can be described as a shortcut.
