Westport guy closed until 2 September, but Graham who runs Timpsons on Nicholson came through.

He drilled the holes through, then we used a hole punch, and then an awl (my idea) to widen them a bit. problem is the screws that came supplied are not quite long enough. But i think I can sort that.

Top guy. Turns out he's a cyclist too. Nice pic of him riding ventoux on the counter. Goes to the top of my 'cycle friendly shops' list.

Do you think I'll need a leather punch for the holes?

If so, does anyone have one I can borrow?

I have one in Canada that I could bring back, but it's old and not as heavy looking as some i;ve seen.

My Timbuk2 pannier fell apart and i couldn't find a replacement with the same fitting system. the one I got has a hook and loop system, which was fine on my road bike, but has now fallen off both the tandem and the folder (no idea why the difference).

But I quite like the actual pannier, so am wondering about retrofitting some QL1 or QL2 clips to it.

I'd be more than happy to pay someone to do the retro-fitting, either in cash or kind.

Or does anyone have any advice ?

I think the big challenge will be punching holes through the top of the pannier without destroying it.
