I can never work out the code

This thread, a year ago. Not totally helpful, actually.

I usually just use the IMG button above the post box. Enter the URL and it automagically surrounds the URL of the image with the IMG and /IMG tags (each tag surrounded by square brackets).

If the image is on Flickr, you can either grab the URL of the image directly and use the IMG tag as above, or if sharing is enabled, select the image size of about 500 pixels wide and use Flickr's BBCode option. That chunk of code can be pasted directly into here.

“sorry”

No apology required, it’s quicker got you - and works!

I've given up on posting photos on CCE as I can never work out the code. If there is an idiots' guide could it be pinned somewhere to a sidebar or top menu?

Any pics I've posted recently have just been links to a Tweet I've written with a pic in, sorry.

I've found that you can use..

:small
:medium
:large

after the image url, :small or :medium usually good.

Most people (accident or design) manage to post photos that are about 500 wide - relatively easy if image is on Flickr.

Some people (inc me) occasionally add pix (particularly found on the web) that are much larger - not too much of a problem if the photo is clickable.

Just found this code yesterday which worked when I used it, so others may like to try.

NOT imperative.

?
Is this something you'd like all of us to do?
Or is it just if that means something to you, you can use it?

Longstanding CCEers will remember there used to be a plug-in that did this automatically, but it messed up the site loading time so it was turned off.

This seems to work -

w=480&h=1&fit=max&auto=format%2Ccompress
