How grim must Kelty be if Cowdenbeth is preferable?

Combine was ahead of me in Inverkeithing and was towing the blade bit. Had to squeeze through islands and of course collected traffic. Once on road to Crossgates the combine moved at 20mph. Thankfully turned off.
I met a young guy on a Boardman cross bike heading to Killin just as it started raining. Inverkeithing and combines in the rain - the signs looked ominous but my mood lifted once past Kinross.
I still have a slight 'fear of Fife' but have tandemed from Cardenden to Dunfermline as well recently so maybe getting over it.

@chdot bides there now so it must be ok?

Gave the train a miss and headed north of Blairgowrie by bike last Monday. I'm not scared of 73mile distance although I rarely cycle more than 100miles in one go. (That's 'not even a mini Audax' to some here).

Notings...
• Dalmeny Cala / Barretts Housing was first / only time I had to really concentrate to squeeze by barriers.
• Forth Bridge had pavement/cycleway blocked. Dangerously slippy plastic ramp. Dropped off kerb to be on safe side.
• I can keep up with a combine harvester
• Hill of Beith and Cowdenbeath are preferable to Kelty
• NCN775 Arngask and Dron route through Glenfarg is not bad at all
• There is a hill above Dron where 48.9+ mph can be achieved easily
• It's possible to leave Edinburgh at 2pm and get to Kirkmichael in 4hr 25min. Real travel time 2pm to 6.45 as stopped briefly in rain.

Next day I did afternoon run through Glen Isla to Arbroath and got on fast train to Edinburgh no problem.
Stopped at Bon Scott statue in Kirriemuir.

Feeling far too inspired and pleased with myself so thought I'd share. Roads were so quiet and scenery new to me :-)
