The company has been dormant since 2013, despite holding "reserves" valued at nearly £8 million in 2017, and somehow making a profit of £680,000 in the same year. I was a bit mystified as to how a "dormant" company could make such a profit without trading. A quick Googol brought up this:</p> <p>---</p> <p>Why have a dormant company?</p> <p>3. To hold a fixed asset such as a property</p> <p>Dormant companies are often used to hold a particular types of asset.</p> <p>The main example is a freehold property or the head lease to a property, with the dormant company option used by companies who deal with flat management.
