Years ago I found a small dog or fox poo on a stone bridge parapet.

Don’t know how it got there.

You know those big lumps of stone at the entrances to parks? Like this one in Moredun. Yesterday I discovered a dog had left a present on top of one of them. The physical manoeuvre necessary to achieve this would have been almost as impressive as the mental manoeuvre which the accompanying human used to justify leaving it there.

Near the start of a beach walk in Fife recently I noticed a few filled bags dumped by the side of the path. Same old story, I thought. However, on return to the same spot 2 hours later, the bags had gone. May be the first time ever that I've seen that actually happen.

Closer to home, I've been walking through the New Town a lot this year and have noticed a lot more dog eggs than I would normally expect, the quiet route cut-through of Scotland Street Lane being a particular hot spot. May just be 3 or 4 sociopathic owners involved, but I've been unpleasantly surprised by this. A few folk too posh to pick?

See that sort of thing all the time. If it's in an area without any 'infrastructure' like handrails then they just hang it on the nearest tree. Utterly bizarre as well as disgusting.

I wonder what tourist-carriage drivers from Bruges make of the UK when they visit, when even our police horses can defecate on cobbles without having to wear an enormous leather nappy?

"...but I do find this format intriguing..."

Generally, biological hazard implementation crew members (human) are all essentially sociopathic, with two sub-groups who truly do not care or even recognise the risk they create and one (the simperers) who are in denial and will simperingly claim that they're going to pick it up and bin it on their way back. Oh, they must have forgotten! Mnhmhmm! Silly me! Aren't I a silly, Bonzo! Mhmhmmnnmn! Others would claim that their duty is done by removing the waste from where it might be trodden upon, leaving the group of whom I'd be interested to learn the through processes, who eschew the bag and just leave dogturds on the ground, ranging from mild (a discreet corner somewhere where few feet might tread) to severe (right in the middle of a narrow section of path).

Always keep a spare Muc-Off or similar powerful and capacious hand-pumped liquid-skooshing device handy for cleaning between the treads of trainers without sacrificing any brushes.

Yesterday I found a plastic bag of dog filth hung from a handrail in a park.

I'd like to have a chat with anyone physically capable of doing that, just to see what's in their mind. We all impose our pollution on other people in some way, but I do find this format intriguing.

More weirdly, yesterday evening I noticed an enormous pile of poo between the rails of the westbound track.

We need a thread, but I'm not starting it.
