I'm aware that the Galafoot Bridge is closed eastbound at the moment, and the diversion is along the A7 to pick up the B6360 which is currently one-way back towards Gala on the other side of the Tweed.</p> <p>The <a href="https://scottishtrunkroadsse.amey.co.uk/a6091-galafoot-bridge-revised-programme-oct-2018/">Amey</a> and <a href="http://trafficscotland.org/news/story.aspx?id=16243">Traffic Scotland</a> web sites both say:</p> <p><em>The B6360 will operate as a one-way road from A7 Junction 7 to Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott. The Abbotsford Road is only open to buses and coaches from Tweedbank Roundabout to the Abbotsford visitor centre car park.</em></p> <p>Which is fine for getting to Abbotsford, but what about getting away? I'm currently <u>assuming</u> that the B6360 is open for two-way traffic between Abbotsford and the Tweedbank Roundabout, but the bit about buses and coaches is confusing me. Does it mean that the road is open <u>only</u> to buses and coaches (ie no other types of vehicle), or open to buses and coaches westward from the Tweedbank Roundabout but eastward for other types of vehicle? Either way I think it is poorly expressed.</p> <p>I would <u>hope</u> that they're not expecting traffic leaving Abbotsford House to go along the wee back road next to the car park that takes you most of the way to Melrose... </p>
