Brochure doesn't mention cycling over it, or height for 700mm trench. There was a sign saying speed bumps ... but only the one randomly placed it seems to straddle the middle of the road. Just west of the Orchard Road South junction. It’s a brutal thing that looks like sections bolted onto the road, about a metre or more front to back, and taking up the middle third of the road. Looks horrible to cycle over, and (in the dark) my first hint that it was there was the driver ahead of me sweving violently towards the kerb to avoid driving over it. </p> <p>My fleeting glimpse of it suggests<br /> a) risk of accident for cyclists who are taking the lane down that stretch (and given that it’s downhill, 20mph is perfectly achievable and so why would you hug the gutter?)<br /> b) risk for cyclists who Are hugging the gutter from drivers steering dangerously away from the hump towards the edge of the road. </p> <p>There were a few cones at the side of the road but I didn’t spot further signs, in the dark.</p> <p>Would be interested to get the opinion of passing cyclists. </p>
