I checked again - the plans show a single central cycle access point. Looks to be around 4m wide. There's also going to be a traffic island to make it easier for westbound cyclists to cross Queen St.

Saw this last night - there's definitely a full kerb where the cycle pass through used to be on both the east and west sides of the pavement. My hope is that the work will instate a wider gap in the middle of the road - there seems to be a drop kerb there (there always was).

I'll be well p*ssed off if the permeability is taken away - that's my drop through to avoid cycling at low speed along Queen Street on a hire bike. The alternative will be hoping onto the pavement via the pedestrian crossing drop kerb at the top of Colme Street which will almost certainly lead to some conflict with folk crossing on foot.

That would be really welcome, but it looked to me like they've installed full height kerb edging continuing the pavement across both the old lanes.

I think the cycle lanes are actually being widened.

I saw this morning that the two cycle lanes between Wemyss Place and Queen Street are in the process of being blocked off.

Shouldn't there have been a TRO or years of consultation and handwringing about this change? I see nothing on the council's website but perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.

I'll get a photo on my way home: it was dark this morning.
