The roads are absolutely chock-a-block with fast moving vehicles: I wouldn't feel at all safe riding there.</p> <p>The one thing cars do observe in NY is the right turn where pedestrians get right of way and cars will stop for you. Not like the UK where just last week, I got a Vickers from a "white van man" and a mouthful of abuse for daring to be on the road just as the d**khead was coming round the corner at speed. I thought that the law in this country too gave pedestrians right of way in these situations?</p> <p>But then again, "white van man" probably hasn't read the Highway code and probably can't read anyway!
