It may have had something to do with aiming to arrive early enough for food but late enough to not get too cold standing around until such time as the card shop in town opened*.</p> <p>Assorted spots included Morningsider, gembo, Laid Back, unhurt, friskiffla, Frenchy, Kim, Tulyar, the aforementioned twinspark, and possibly IainMcR but I don't know what he looks like. Free breakfasts are served to around 350 people who cycle in on their way to work. There will be a dozen stalls on cycle–related topics, including a Spokes stall selling the popular Edinburgh and Lothians maps at discounted prices, a full bike check and chain lube service. Police will be there for security marking, and SPOKES launches its annual Summer Competition. The event draws to an end with a few encouraging words from Councillors around 8.30 and there is usually a prize draw for a £50 Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Op voucher.
