@fimm

It is three days a week. The role also reports directly to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity so I don't think there can have been any oversight.

I'm certainly curious as to why the Commissioner wasn't involved. Looks like the ideal opportunity to drive home the message.

Lee Craigie is doing some mountain bike thing in the US at the moment.
I don't think her role is full time? I had a notion about 3 days a week? Gives her time to do other stuff.

“would have thought this was an event she would attend”

Not sure she’s on this island at moment.

Wouldn’t be surprised if TS forgot to invite her to things though...

@iwrats - Scotland's Active Nation Commissioner = Lee Craigie.

Sure she was tweeting about something other day but would have thought this was an event she would attend.

“

The 2016 NTS refresh acknowledged the pace of change in the 10 years since the publication of the original Strategy in 2006. If anything, that pace – and the extent of this Government’s ambition – has accelerated in the period since the refresh: our National Infrastructure Mission has committed us to increase overall infrastructure spending, to deliver a long term boost to Scotland’s economy; in response to the global climate emergency, we’re now in an environment where the drive to low carbon transport is essential to our future wellbeing; spending on active travel has doubled; and the rate of technological advance is astonishing. There is also a recognition that transport has a critical role to play in reducing inequality and helping to meet the ambitious Child Poverty targets that the Scottish Government has set.

“

https://www.transport.gov.scot/media/45149/national-transport-strategy-draft-for-consultation-july-2019.pdf

Fine words.

“committed us to increase overall infrastructure spending, to deliver a long term boost to Scotland’s economy; in response to the global climate emergency”

Does anyone know if Scotland's Active Nation Commissioner attended the launch of this document?

I can see no indication that they did.
