“We found there was often more that united us than divided us’

Well done

‘and yet too often”...

Tragically true.

In spite of what ‘we’ sometimes think, the ‘overwhelming cycle lobby’ is sometimes quite effective.

BUT

It’s nothing compared with overwhelming status quo inertia (plus some well funded lobbying by the whole motor transport establishment).

I think most CCEers understand that cycling is important but only one element in ‘taking back control of road space’.

Good luck with your latest initiatives.

The latest event from Walk Cycle Vote is now live for booking

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/active-travel-for-everyone-tickets-73548851595

In the past few months, We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote have held three workshops in three different Scottish cities, bringing together cyclists, visually impaired people and wheelchair users to start to find common ground over what we want for our streets, towns and cities. We found there was often more that united us than divided us - and yet too often, changes intended to make life easier for cyclists have made active travel - whether walking, cycling or wheeling - more difficult for other groups, largely due to poor design. So now we're holding a joint workshop with the RNIB and others to try and clarify what each others' needs are and try and ensure we build streets that work for all.

It's a free event but we'll need to know how many people are coming to organise catering etc. so please sign up online and please also spread the word.
