Two cyclists have broken their hips by slipping on the bridge in the last 2 months. The issue has been reported to the City Council ( North-East Parks) and local councillors. There has been a delay agreeing what work should be done and appointing a contractor - it is expected that the work will be done before Dec 2019. Jamie Thin (Univ of Edinburgh) is collating a list of cycling accidents and encouraging cyclists to report them to the council. Most non-collision cycling accidents on cycleways are never reported to the City council so they don't know the impact of poor design and maintenance. The best way to get an accident reported is to make a claim to the council, as that forces the council to review the safety of that section of the cycleway and makes cycling safer for everyone </p>
