@gembo made it down after work - wave power was amazing, was under water a good few times but felt fab- a kind man named Hendry looked after my clothes and bike lights- dark very quick and feet were cold. Went in again sat at 11 and will do sun at high tide- I cycle and swim but please don't mention the other word- because I can not.

Management has been complaining about my shorts for a few days. Shorts, t shirt and Vans still working for me.

The pool requires us to be "beach ready" on arrival which means swimmers under your trousering. You take off your outer habiliments at the side of the pool and leave your kit on a chair. Seems easier in shorts.

Probably go there on a green '77 Raleigh Stowaway tomorrow morning. It has a working twist grip which I don't hate. It also has steel rims which don't work well in the rain. It was in school two weeks ago. It was the first day the pool opened, I had to go straight after school and needed something which wouldn't get nicked. Even in Coatbridge.

Number 2 son has been scooting around Airdrie and Coatbridge on my red late '70s Kingpin. I need to put a new three speed trigger on his folding Triumph Traffic Master (it's a rebranded Twenty).

Picked up some old stuff from the Common Wheel in Maryhill today.

@ejstubbs

Ba’ad Park is where the Chief Womble resides, of the clan Lang Whang Wombles of which I am Womble who keeps Ainville section tidy. He has added an entire perpendicular extension to the original dwelling so is maybe go8ng for some air BnB wombles? Also some barbed wire on his lovely balcony to deter Toerags who are frequent. Slightly detracts from the ambience. The actual Cairns Castle Farm rents various properties and seems to have built a big hall for weddings? You used to be able to hire a rowing boat and now there is usually a bit of paddle board action. At Colzium about a mile up the nicely surfaced road the Scottish gun club have a clubhouse. Iwrats and I paid them a visit last Sunday, bit of arm flapping which made us laff.

Back to Ba’ad Park - At the far west corner of Uncle Bulgaria’s garden there is a gravestone to Job Ridder (1949-1998) inscribed by his family as a Fantastic Human Being. Not quite as good as Royal Tennebaum’s inscripton. Nonetheless moving. The stone is a massive monolith. A little further west you come to a failed bird hide. Has various wasp nests and last time I was there we had to close all the shutters as the dummKophs who had been in before had left them open. Go visit as it will fall down soon, the very tops of the peaks on the wee islands are visible again.

@bill: Fascinating stuff. I note that the OS map shows a location named "Baad Park" near to West Cairns Farm, on the south shore of Harperrig Reservoir. I wonder if that could be a remnant of Mr Cameron's gangsta past? (Or am I getting my argots muddled?)

Lots of frost on cars and in verges of West Lothian this morning. Nice that the frost waited a few days and didn't happen during 'summer'.

My outfit: shorts, merino shirt+merino arm warmers+ two long jerseys, full-fat winter gloves. My hands definitely think it's winter weather. Those gloves actually kept the whole body pretty warm. Yesterday I had my finger-less gloves and I was quite chilly.
