I know it won't make a sensationalist headline however there's no parking or drop-off zone provisions at the existing South Morningside Primary School either?! (or at St. Peter's?)

It was very pleasant a few weeks back when gas works closed Canaan Lane to through traffic for a few days.
Lots of space for people to walk away from the narrow pavements.

I don't really agree that it's carmageddon in the morning, but there's always several stopped on the road. I usually try to catch the driver's eye with a Paddington stare if possible.

The current Deanbank infants annex (which will become part of the new school) doesn't have any parking spaces or drop-off zone and it is carmageddon at the start of the school day.

The vast majority of parents and children do walk/scoot/cycle. It's just a selfish few who abandon their cars anywhere on Canaan Lane, regardless of the problems/danger it causes others.

I agree with Jonty that a few bollards closing off a section of Canaan Lane is the only real solution. The "school street" outside nearby St. Peters may as well not exist, given the amount of cars that travel through it - so that doesn't seem to be a workable solution.

They should close Canaan Lane at both ends to through traffic to make walking more pleasant. Would quieten down whole neighbourhood up to Cluny Drive.

You don’t want massive parking for bikes or ends up parking for cars?

The morning side catchment is high density SIMD 9 and 10 so walking possible though the main roads are busy.

Chauffeuring to a drop off is also likely

Interesting. I see the 86 spaces are for bikes and scooters, so a bit of wiggle room there.

Excellent. More of this.

Although, parking for 86 bikes? Could be better.
