Linked to Twitter instead! </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=19998#post-319892 Mon, 23 Dec 2019 14:32:30 +0000 Darkerside 319892@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>Halp.</p> <p>Looking for an ebike that:</p> <p><ul><li>Has 26" or bigger wheels, with clearance for spikes (40mm width or more).</li><li>Has a crank-mounted, powerful motor (big local hills, so looking for peak torque somewhere above 50Nm).</li><li>Can fit a childseat and panniers.</li><li>Battery either integrated or downtube mounted.</li><li>&lt;£3k, for cycle-to-work purposes.</li><li>Strong kickstand, ideally twin-legged.</li><li>Bonuses for: front panniers/crate carrier; ability to carry 2 kids.</li></ul></p> <p>I <em>had</em> been aiming for a 2019 Kona Ute at £2700 from Evans, but they've lost the last bike they thought they had. The 2020 they'll do for £3.3k, but then I get no tax savings. </p> <p>I still felt that was a reasonable price, but looking around I'm paying an awful lot for the longtail-ness. Something like the <a href="https://www.giant-bicycles.com/gb/explore-eplus-2-electric-bike-2020">Giant Explore 2+</a> meets all the requirements, apart from the twin-leg kickstand and the bonus requirements (and for the £1.5k saving, I could avoid to replace the fork with something with rack mounts).</p> <p>Any suggestions? What I <em>really</em> want is my current Kona Sutra utility bike (hopefully photo below), but with a motor. It doesn't seem to exist...
